StrongBean

The reason for my nonexistent postings lately is that we have had one HELL of a scare and roller coaster ride in our family in the past 2 weeks!

Our little BrotherBean has been in the PICU at Children's hospital. We spent 9 long, scary, terrifying, exhausting, days living at the hospital. I am so elated to post this story and photos on my blog now, because it means that BrotherBean is safe and sound at home with us and on his way to being a healthy 3 month old baby! I hadn't wanted to post anything during our stay (even though i had countless hours of nothing to do and plenty of Internet surfing time) because i just couldn't' bear to write about it until i knew the outcome would be one i would be able to write about.
I had planned on this post to be the story of what happened and all the intricate details of the 9 day stay...but as i am typing this i just can't do that. I had wanted to so i would have it for memory, so i would have it to look back on, but now all it does is bring me to tears knowing just how lucky we are to have our baby boy still with us. So--instead i will just share a few photos of our hospital stay! Don't worry...i am not about to post the photos of him hooked up to the ventilator or any of those first few days we were there, those are sad and scary photos and nobody wants to see a baby like that. We did take them though, because i wanted to be able to look back years from now and remember how scary it was and how blessed we are now. These photos are mainly of us trying to survive the hospital stay and make it some what fun :)

This is BrotherBean about 2 days after being off the ventilator and feeding tube! He looks so good here and so rested!
Once we were allowed to bring outside things in and once he was out of the PICU we were able to make it a more fun place for him.

This below is BrotherBean on the day we LEFT the hospital!! He was trying so hard to be a smiling happy baby for momma and daddy...although you could tell he didn't feel very well at all!MilitaryMan had to go out and buy him a new cool "going home"shirt!
Dr. BooderBean checked in to be sure everything was OK in the room!
