I Scream, You Scream, we ALL scream for ICE CREAM!!

Cheesey title huh!!

It's a scorching triple digit summer this year!!! going on i think, day 35 of well over the 100 degree mark.  Military Man and PaPa and I decided the boys needed some ice-cream last weekend while we were visiting in Ponca.  These boys have the right idea, the new Braums flavor-Birthday Cake, is the best!!!

American Honey

You know that song by Lady Antebellum "American Honey"?  Well it's been our little song for BrotherBean since he was just days old. The song was popular at the time he was born and BooderBean and I love to sing all kinds of country songs together so when this song came out, you better believe we sang like we were on American Idol!  After only a few short days of being home with BrotherBean when he was born we quickly learned that he loved being sung to, and this song is the only one that seemed to soothe those baby tears away!  BooderBean and i would sing to him all the time and he would instantly calm down when we sang this song, crazy isn't it!

Well that singing hasn't stopped, just this morning the 3 of us were belting out my high school fight song, the itsy bitsy spider, and numerous rounds of "Oklahoma".  Watch out world, one day you might see us on American Idol...or at least we think we are that good :)

Here are some photos from the 4th, we spent the late afternoon/evening/night with Military Man's family and had so much fun, i tried to sneak in a few photo ops here and there :)  BooderBean is still so fun to photograph and just loves the camera, BrotherBean is just too stinkin' fast to get a good photo!

i love how he ended up posing, just looking at the flag

My awesome in-laws and their grandboys!

BEST father-in-law around!!

Take One, Take Two, Take...Twenty!

So, I have no idea how my good friends GreyGill Fish, MissPrissandMe, and PhotoJunky take such amazing photos of little ones...because let me tell you, i got gray hairs just trying to get ONE good photo of my boys on my own!! :)

I got this grand idea to take some good photos right in our green, spacious backyard and frame them up for MilitaryMan for Fathers day...while I think my kiddos are just about the cutest things on earth, they sure wouldnt' cooperate for me for a photo. BooderBean, was, is, and always will be such the little ham for the camera! He knows exactly what to do, and models it so well! If you know how to get him into this professionally, let me know!!
BrotherBean on the other a busy, active, 18 month old, with zero intentions of sitting still for a photo :)
Here's what i got:

yes, we tried bribery with food...

neither would look directly at me

then Brother decided he wanted to hold the camera rather than me

lastly Brother was done, off and running from the camera

TA DA!! while this may not be perfect, it captures their personalities so much! i love this one!
So from now on...I think i'll let the above ladies stick to the behind the camera lense, and i'll not :)
