Fall Fun

I promised myself I would get better at this, and I really really want to be....but my blog seems to get pushed to the waste side and I am not liking that. Here we are at the beginning of November and I am bound and determined to write a weekly post! In fact, since I live by my Outlook calendar-- I am making a weekly task of it. There, it's in writing, maybe that will tie me to it more :) Here's to hoping anyway!

So much fun stuff happened this past month that I thought I would just do a quick bullet list and then , of course, overload with photos!!
  • August came and BooderBean started Kindergarten, he loves to read and write and is getting very good at both!

  • BrotherBean moved up in a class and is now with the 3's and 4's at daycare. He is loving it and is growing up way too fast, his verbal skills amaze me daily.
  • I broke my foot during August and was stuck with an "awesome" boot for the next 4 weeks, my first bone to ever break and at the age of 31 too!  It is called the "dancers break"..I told to doc he needed to change the name because my dancing skills are something to laugh at for sure!
  • Fair season began and we took the boys to a couple local fairs. They of course had a blast and their favorite parts were: the animals, face painting, rides, and cotton candy!
  • Soccer Season was upon us as well and we spent 2 1/2 months with weekly practices and games. And let me tell you, WOW, this BooderBean boy is pretty stinkin' awesome at soccer! He gets his game face on every time and gets in there and plays like he's been doing it for years. So excited to watch him continue in this sport.

  • BooderBean turned 6 this year and we celebrated with 4 parties for him! seriously...he's not spoiled one bit i promise ;) Of course the kid needed an OSU Cowboys themed party this year--he's like their biggest fan, it's hilarious!

  • We got a surprise with our dog having 7 baby puppies and needing to raise them and find them great homes! This past weekend we were able to find all but one a home! great news!

  • Fall Break came and I got to take a couple days off to hang with my boys and we did just that...hung out and played!
  • MilitaryMan had knee surgery this month and is finally recovering from that, poor guy had to miss the OSU Homecoming events though. But he got to have a kiddo and wife free house for a day so I think he did pretty good :)

  • We took the boys to the pumpkin patch and had a lot of fun running the rows of pumpkins, hiding in the corn maze, and posing with the giant pumpkin.  Later that night we carved up some pumpkins.

  • Halloween time came and the boys were so geared up for a fun night! We visited all the family we could and even got to visit quite a few friends. Boys got to eat candy for dinner, dress up in fun costumes, stay up way past their bedtime, and have their mommy and daddy's undivided attention :) I think the night was a success!

  • Today is my THIRTY SECOND birthday!!! I've been shown that I have a lot of really awesome people in my life who really care about me, and that sure makes this girl feel special!

An exit interview...

An interview with a fun loving, creative minded, silly acting, serious story telling, full of heart, soccer stud, outdoor boy, handsome, smart, helpful and talented SIX YEAR OLD!!

Showing off his "Go Pokes" pose!

Thanks to all our family and friends who helped me come up with some serious and funny questions for our boy...here you go, there's tons!!

1.  How old do you think mommy and daddy are?  "Mommy is 31 and Daddy is 32" (right on buddy!)

5.  What is something that makes your family special?  "That there is nobody else that looks like them, not even my mommy, she is the only person in the whole world that looks like that."

6.  Why is dirt brown?  "Because it has those little white things in it, you know, like in potting soil...well those are the blood cells I think, and they give the food to the soil to help it grow and not be sick and die and that is how it is able to turn brown."

7.  What kind of car do you want to drive when you turn 16?  "That's easy, a race car!"

8.  What is your favorite thing to do with Mimi and Papa in Ponca City?  "Riding on my bike to the bike park and going to play at the park after I ride the entire trail."

11.  What is your favorite thing about your brother?  "Whenever he laughs it is my favorite because he has a really hilarious laugh-don't you call it his belly laugh or something like that?, and then usually when he laughs i chase him around and he's funny again"

12.  What is your least favorite thing about your brother?  "That he doesn't like me to wrestle him hard, he always starts to cry and pretend like he's hurt so you'll hold him"

13.  Do Boogers taste better the older you get?  "NO!!!"

14.  What's something that Mommy and Daddy always say to you?  "Mommy always says 'Coleman do your chores! you say this to me every single day as soon as we get home from school!! i can't do anything else ever until i do my chores!!" Get Ready...Get Set....I'm Back!!

Been a little MIA for nearly the last year!!! And the hardest part was that since I hadn't posted in a few months, each time I would check back here I would stare at a blank white page trying to find the words to start back up again!

It really does upset me that I hadn't posted in nearly a year, and to think about all the milestones I have missed posting on and all those little memories I have failed to put down in writing!!
Well, that is changing folks, I'M BACK!

Not that there are tons of readers whom have been knocking down my door to start posting again or anything :) I more or less used this blog in the past as my "scrapbook" of memories for my children to hopefully look back on years from now and hear all the funny, silly, sad, heartbreaking, big, and little events of our life as the Krout Sprouts.

NOW that I'm back...let me introduce you to 7 new members, well temporary members, to our family! We have 7 new pups that will be FREE to good homes in about 2 weeks!
On a side note the cutie pie holding the baset turns thebig S-I-X tomorrow!!! Check back tomorrow to hear about his "5 year exit interview" :)

"Breakin' in" our Elmo PJ's

BrotherBean got to have "PJ Day" at his little school this week! He was so proud to get to pick out his own PJ's to put on that morning...oh and VERY opinionated about it as well :)
I laid out all his favorites: Moosh pj's (moose), a pair of Christmas ones that he just couldnt' part with after the season was over, his Choo Choo pj's (train pj's), and of course the Elmo ones.  Each time I would lay out a new pair he would toss them back in the drawer and say "No, I wear Elmo pj's to cool". BooderBean and I were cracking up at him picking them out. Of course Elmo won, and then we dug out our Elmo socks and of course had to put our Monkey cowshoes (house shoes) on.
We even left the house 10 mintues early to have a mini photo shoot in the front yard before we loaded up and headed out for the day.

This whole fun, happy moods, morning came to a jolting halt as i realized i had just locked us all three out of the house with no house keys, no car keys, and a dead cell phone in my hand!!! Long story short, I learned how to break into our house and BooderBean got to climb through a bedroom window!

I told him to do a funny pose...this was what he did!

he ws showing me is wrestling moves while in PJ's

My little cheeser!!
BUT we did all this in Elmo PJ's so it made it all better right :) right?????

Popsicle fun over the weekend

the HERE and NOW

Like many things in my life lately...i feel like I'm spinning out of control and trying to take on too much, do too much, be too much, to everyone! I find my blog that I used to update weekly, or more, being neglected because I either haven't taken enough photos or I haven't got the time to sit and post for five minutes.  And then...I went to Ash Wednesday Mass today...and my eyes, heart, mind, and soul were opened up to what is in front of me that needs more attention than anything. And what is that something you ask, LIFE!! Heard a great Homily, a much needed one in fact.  About how God put these 40 days in front of us so that we could step back and reflect on our lives, where we are going and what we are doing.  I realized I needed to take a look at the small picture in front of me every day, and not the big picture and my big "to do" list.

Last night for example was EXACTLY what I needed to do, a friend asked me on a whim to come to the park with her kiddo after work and play with my boys and then grab some dinner and relax at her house...I instantly thought "no way can i do that tonight, I didnt' plan on it. Therefore I don't have a change of play clothes for the boys and I, I'll be in my work clothes, I didn't pack pj;'s for the boys for the ride home, I had plans of what needed done around the house tonight that i should do." But you know what i did instead...I left work, grabbed all of us a yummy drink (my last Starbucks for the next 40 days!), grabbed up my excited boys, and headed to the park to play!

I am a big believer in "Everything happens for a reason".  God puts people in your life for a reason...this sweet friend of mine is opposite of me in many ways.  She is creative and crafty where i am not, she is most always living in the here and now when I am not, she makes me step outside of myself and just BE ME when she knows i need to, she is that person that i know i can call upon anytime of any day and she would never judge.  I realized today in Mass that God has placed me where i need to be in a BIG way.  Thank you to my A Girl.

Here are a few photos of events that have happened over the last few weeks that are my "here and now" photos...random, i know, but they are true life!

Hands on Adventure

A few weeks back school was out for the day, so we packed up for the day and headed out to the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Have you been there? No matter your age, if your answer was just "no" then you are missing out my friends!!! This place was so amazing!  We spent 5 hours there, and could have spent at least 2 more.
I'm about to go on photo OVERLOAD because there are just too many amazing photo ops throughout the day, I couldn't help myself :)
